Andy Cliff began his career in logistics as a customs broker and progressed into regional and international roles at Kuehne & Nagel and DHL Global Forwarding where he gained his extensive knowledge of freight forwarding and international logistics.

He used this insight and market knowledge to launch Straightforward Consultancy in 2010, helping mid-sized companies to lower their costs while managing their international logistics activity.

Andy and his wife, Diane, run SCL day to day and act as virtual logistics managers for their customers, overseeing forwarder performance, actively managing freight costs and customs compliance, keeping them competitive, resilient and compliant.

Alexandra Herdman is a public policy manager at Logisitcs UK. Her portfolio includes air, water and planning.

A qualified project manager, Alexandra has an MSc in global challenges from the University of Edinburgh, which had a strong focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation, decarbonisation, global health and international development.

Prior to Logistics UK, Alexandra spent five years as a senior researcher in the Scottish Parliament, working on public policy and legislative scrutiny.

Glyn Hughes has been involved in air cargo for over 40 years having started his career with British Caledonian in the UK. He joined IATA in 1991 and become IATA's global head of cargo in June 2014.

In February 2021, Glyn joined TIACA as its first director general where he works with the board to deliver the organisation's vision for a safe, profitable and united air cargo industry that embraces modern technologies and practices, to sustainably serve trade and social development worldwide.

His priority areas include safety, security, sustainability, digitalisation and innovation. He is dedicated to developing collaborative relationships and is a firm believer in supporting the next generation of industry leaders and innovators.

Robert Jervis has been organising transport and logistics events since 1988. As event director at Cargo Systems, and later at Informa, Robert has organised events in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, the US, Mexico, Panama and Chile.

He is currently the event director of Multimodal in the UK.

Robert is also an ambassador for international development charity Transaid.

Having innovated and executed game-changing initiatives, moved abroad for her career with two young children in tow, and led multinational teams, Sadiya is a resourceful, empathetic, and resilient business leader with published articles in industry media.

Being an ICF accredited qualified executive coach, Sadiya champions growth mindset and is passionate about personal development and mental fitness to maximise performance. Sadiya’s inquisitive nature, enthusiastic attitude and international experience have led to a rich knowledge of the airfreight sector. Offering a unique mix of industry expertise and perspectives to advance human potential, Sadiya continues to help businesses and private clients around the world to exceed their limits.

Cathy Morrow Roberson heads up Logistics Trends & Insights LLC, a supply chain market research firm. Her career spans libraries, startups, market research firms, and supply chain firms UPS and Transportation Insight.

Cathy also serves as research manager for the Reverse Logistics Association, research analyst for the Journal of Commerce, writes a column for Air Cargo Next and writes the LinkedIn newsletter, Freight Forward.

Cathy focuses on competitive and market analysis, M&A due diligence and has in depth knowledge of the global freight forwarding, technology, parcel and e-commerce markets.

Cathy has a BA in History from Winthrop University, a Masters in Library Science from the University of South Carolina and an MBA in finance and marketing from Mercer University.


David Stroud, Bifa

David Stroud has led a full time career in air cargo, working for small, medium and multinational freight forwarders.

His time in the industry has allowed him to travel the world extensively, gaining experience from many viewpoints. He is currently working with the British International Freight Association as policy and compliance advisor on all things related to air cargo.

The experience he has gained over the years allows him to support the association’s members on a day-to-day basis.

    

     

      

Brendan Sullivan, IATA

Brendan Sullivan leads IATA’s cargo activities as the global head of cargo. Before taking on this role in July 2021, Brendan held a number of roles in IATA covering cargo operations, e-commerce and dangerous goods.

Prior to joining IATA in 2007, Brendan was at Air Canada managing various aspects of cargo operations, processes, and procedures.

Passionate about air cargo, innovation, diversity and talent, Brendan also co-founded IATAs Future Air Cargo Executive (FACE) programme and has a wealth of experience in logistics, operations, and people management.

 


James Wyatt, aeroconcept

James Wyatt is the general manager of aeroconcept, an aviation management consultancy based in Leipzig, Germany. aeroconcept was founded in May 2019 and provides management consulting services to all sectors of the aviation industry, focused on air cargo and logistics.

A British and German national, James has been in the aviation industry for over 23 years, predominately in air cargo and logistics.

With working for some of the world’s largest airlines, including, Lufthansa Cargo, AeroLogic and Qatar Airways, as well as DHL Express and IATA, James has gained extensive air cargo experience.

James has global expertise in the industry supply chain, including cargo handling, ground handling, flight operations, quality and safety, restricted commodities, auditing, cargo IT systems, product management and training.

Through this experience, James offers an unbiased and independent approach to the challenges and opportunities of the air cargo industry and demonstrates this through the wide variety of clients within the aeroconcept portfolio.

Ariaen Zimmerman is a recurring judge for the Air Cargo News Awards, bringing a career of over 20 years in air cargo logistics with air carriers as well as with IATA. He shaped Polar Air Cargo's global key accounts programme and initiated Saudia Cargo's key accounts programme.

Next to commercial roles with cargo airlines, Ariaen has been teaching marketing at a Dutch University and led IATA's Cargo iQ initiative through one of its most tumultuous transitions from Cargo 2000 to Cargo iQ.

Ariaen is a dedicated advocate for sustainability and ethical business practices, which is why he started neAira Executive Performance. At neAira, he helps companies - and their teams and executives - navigate leadership and performance challenges; fostering an environment conducive to the growth and development of both businesses and their people.

As a judge for the annual Air Cargo News Awards, Ariaen brings his comprehensive understanding and dedication to the table. He is particularly interested in projects that have a significant impact on the way the air cargo industry addresses its challenges, from both a business and a people and planet point of view.
